Explosion-Proof Heaters (ATEX certified) provide neutral convection heating solutions for electrical equipment in hazardous industrial locations. Often at such locations, the potential for explosion exists due to the presence of flammable gases, vapors, powder-metals or dust.
Explosion-Proof Heaters are also designed to eliminate the moisture in enclosures or other designated spaces. Moisture, especially when combined with aggressive gasses and dust, causes atmospheric corrosio which can result in the failure of components such as circuit breakers, busbars, relays, integrated circuit boards, transformers and so on.
Failure of components is generally caused by changing resistance, flashovers, creepage currents or reduced insulation properties. Moisture and corrosion will remain at low levels if humidity does not exceed 60%. By maintaining a temperature inside the enclosure that is approximately 5°C higher than the outside temperature, moisture problems can be eliminated. TEx-proof heaters provide such a constant temperature for optimal operating conditions in hazardous enviroments.
